Back in Czechia! Nové Město na Moravě will welcome elite skiers after four years

World elite of cross-country skiers will return to Nové Město na Moravě after four years. Vysočina Arena will host two races of the World Cup on 18th and 19th January. Complete Czech national team and the brightest stars of present days will pit their strenght first in classical distance race and then in pursuit with free technique.

Johannes Hösflot Klaebo, Alexandr Bolshunov, Martin Johnsrud Sundby, Therese Johaug or Stina Nilsson. Czech fans will have a chance to see the greatest icons of the cross-country skiing at the home stadium. After four years Vysočina will welcome the most prestigious series of cross-country skiing – the World Cup.

The last time, when the Czech Republic hosted the Cross-Country World Cup, was back in 2016. At that time Czech fans could see in trail our legendary medallist from world championship or the Olympics Lukáš Bauer or other member of bronze Olympics relay Martin Jakš. This time the rejuvenated Czech team after a generation exchange will rely mainly on Michal Novák, Petra Nováková, Kateřina Razýmová or Barbora Havlíčková who could notch up her World Cup debut.

Sports fans can expect thrilling performance in the middle of January. About 200 ski racers out of 20 countries will fight for the spot on podium in two individual races. At first, Saturday 18th January will offer a classical distance race, woman 10km and men 15km. On Sunday 19th January the fans can support their favourites during free technique pursuit, woman 10km and men 15km.

The racing weekend will be held under the name of legendary Golden Ski, which has over 80-year tradition and has been one of the world‘s oldest cross-country skiing races held on regular basis.
