Czech skier Kateřina Razýmová confirmed her current form and closed top 10 standing in 10km free. Kateřina Janatová also performed fantastically, by her 13th place she improved her life maximum. The race was dominated by Norwegian Therese Johaug.
The opening event of the World Cup in Nové Město na Moravě introduced women who raced in 10km with interval start free. Nine Czech skiers participated in this race. Razýmová reached the best result who by 10th place linked to her amazing form this season.
"I was surprised before the start how many people supported us. I have to admit I was really nervous," Razýmová describes. "After 2km I calmed down and felt quite encouraged. I’m happy with my final standing, it’s a great success at the domestic arena. Tomorrow I’ll try to improve my performance on my favourite trail."
22-year-old Kateřina Janatová made it to top 15. The 13th place in 10km free means the best result in her career. "The crowd boosted me, the atmosphere was amazing. The result really surprised me, I didn’t expect it," native of Jilemnice was shining.
Other Czech skiers ended off top 30 so gained no points. Norwegian Therese Johaug enjoyed her victory followed by second Natalya Nepryayeva from Russia, Norwegian Heidi Weng finished 3rd. Tomorrow there is 10km classic pursuit on programme.
